Custom Motorized Drapes on Quiet, Smart Tracks
Motorized drapery replaces the hand-drawn rod with a powered track. A quiet motor at one end moves the carriers along the track, opening and closing the drapes smoothly and evenly at the touch of a button, on a schedule or as part of a smart-home scene. It is the most practical way to handle tall windows, wide glass walls and drapes that are hard to reach.
Custom-made to your measurements, with consultation and installation throughout New York City. We plan the track, motor, controls and fabric together, then install and set up the whole system.
What Motorization Changes
- 01
Effortless operation
Open and close heavy or wide drapes without pulling on the fabric.
- 02
Even, consistent folds
The track moves every carrier together, so drapes look the same every time.
- 03
Schedules and scenes
Open at sunrise, close at sunset or move with lights and audio.
- 04
Reach any window
Ideal for tall ceilings, stair landings and windows behind furniture.
- 05
Less wear
No tugging on the leading edge, so fabric and hardware last longer.

Track systems and motors
- Ceiling track
- A slim track fixed to the ceiling or into a pocket for a floor-to-ceiling look.
- Wall track
- A track mounted on the wall above the window.

- Wall switch
- A battery-powered wall switch, so there is no wiring for the switch itself.
- Remote
- A dedicated 15-channel remote for single drapes or groups.
- App
- Control from your phone and create scenes and schedules.
- Voice and smart home
- Works with Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings, plus systems such as Control4, KNX and Loxone.
Fabric & Drapery Compatibility
Motorized tracks work with an extensive selection of drapery fabrics, from sheers to velvets and blackout-lined panels. Ripple fold is the most common heading for motorized drapery because its carriers glide evenly on the track; pinch pleat can also be motorized on a suitable track. Very wide or heavily lined drapes are matched to the right motor and track at the design stage.
Linen Blend
Natural linen texture with added durability.
Velvet
Rich, heavy drape with excellent light blocking.
Silk Blend
A silk-like drape with a subtle sheen.
Sheer Voile
Lightweight sheer for soft, diffused light.
Blackout Lined
Full blackout with thermal insulation.
Where Motorized Drapes Work Best
Floor-to-ceiling glass
Wide, heavy drapes that open together across a whole wall.
Bedrooms
Blackout drapes that close at night and open on a wake-up schedule.
Living rooms and media rooms
Drapes that move with lighting and AV scenes.
Tall and hard-to-reach windows
Stairwells, double-height rooms and windows behind furniture.
Hotels, boardrooms and lobbies
Consistent, reliable operation tied to building controls.
Care & Maintenance
- Vacuum the fabric gently with a soft brush attachment.
- Keep the track clear of dust so the carriers run quietly.
- Recharge or replace batteries when the motor slows or the app shows a low battery.
- Let us take down and rehang drapes for cleaning so the motor limits stay set correctly.
Power, Measuring & Installation
Motors can be battery-powered or hardwired. Battery motors need no new wiring and suit most retrofits; hardwired motors are best planned during renovation or new construction, with power brought to the motor end of the track. Our team measures each opening, plans track length, stack space and motor position, and installs and programs the system, including pairing with your app, remote or smart home. Apollo is based in Brooklyn and installs throughout New York City.
